We are lucky enough to be spending the next 20 months in Latin America. As we travel anti-clockwise around South America, before heading up to Central America, we hope to meet lots of lovely people, learn some Latin dance moves and enjoy yummy new food. We're writing this blog to keep friends and family up to date with a particular focus on food, farmers and football...

Great to hear from you chaps.
That's crazy about the exchange rate - it doesn't seem to make any sense, but glad to hear you can afford a bit more because of figuring it all out.
Looks like the official exchange rate is currently 3200 bolivars to the pound, and it was 4200 in June. So the amount a pound buys has gone down by about a quarter.
So how many bolivars are you getting for a quid from the black market fellas?

Hi Rach and Si, Congratulations- just heard your news from Sue. That's fab. Just got onto your blog and really enjoying reading about your travels.
We have spent the morning painting with Molly and her friend, some of the paint made it onto the paper.
Take care xxx
