There is a thriving second hand clothes market in Nicaragua, nowhere more so than Esteli. There are rows of shops just selling second-hand clothing and shoes, mostly shipped in from the US. Just as in the UK, some people are a bit too proud to buy second hand, but for those like us, with an eye for a bargain, it's a fun shopping experience with more interesting, quality clothes on offer than in the other shops (think branded shirts and spangly, clingy lycra tops).
